Purpose
CPC Moderator will work with their board supervisor and the AMTA National Board of Directors and staff to carry out planning, facilitating and moderating the CPC meeting to be held during National Convention in the year subsequent to their election, according to the purpose stated in AMTA Bylaws and policy.
Eligibility
Must be a professional member in good
standing.
Must be member of Chapter Presidents Council at time of
election.
Must have signed the Chapter Volunteer Code of Conduct.
Agrees to uphold and abide by National AMTA Bylaws,
Policy, and Code of Conduct.
Authority
Chapter Presidents Council (CPC)
Moderator is given authority by National Bylaws and
Policies. CPC Moderator is elected by majority vote of
the Chapter Presidents Council attendees at the end of
the Chapter Presidents Council meeting held during the
AMTA National Convention.
Alternate CPC Moderator
The alternate CPC Moderator is the
individual who receives the second most votes during the
election of the CPC Moderator. The alternate CPC
moderator works with the CPC Moderator in the planning
stages of the meeting and assists the Moderator during
the meeting with things such as time keeping, etc.
Accountability
CPC Moderator will be assigned to an
AMTA Executive Committee member who shall serve as
her/his board supervisor. The CPC Moderator regularly
reports to her/his board supervisor, and is accountable
to the board for her/his responsibilities and
performance by virtue of election and performance.
Term of Office
Term of Office is one year, commencing
at the end of the CPC meeting in which they are elected,
and concluding when a new CPC Moderator is elected at
the end of the CPC meeting the following year. A CPC
Moderator may serve as moderator or alternate more than
one year, either successively or non-continuous, if
re-elected.
Relationship
CPC Moderator works most closely with
her/his board supervisor, staff liaison and alternate
moderator. Other responsibilities require the CPC
Moderator to interact with the elected and appointed,
national and chapter volunteers and members, as
applicable.
Responsibilities
1. Responds to association communications on a regular and timely basis via phone, e-mail, or other appropriate means.
2. Reviews evaluation forms from previous CPC meetings.
3. Establishes agenda, format, theme, and content for upcoming CPC meeting in accordance with purpose stated in Bylaws and policy.
4. Chairs conference calls with staff, alternate moderator, and board supervisor to discuss CPC format changes/refinement.
5. Interfaces with Chapter Relations Committee Chair and Chapter Relations staff on meeting format, theme and content to ensure continuity between CPC, CVOP, and Chapter Leadership Training events.
6. Invites speakers for meeting, including but not limited to:
· National AMTA President and Board members
· National committee/workgroup chairs
· Councils/commissions
· Massage Therapy Foundation
· Chapter presidents.
7. Serves as leader of the CPC and moderator of the CPC meeting.
8. Directs the CPC’s activities as charged.
Responsibilities include:
· Ensures deadlines are met.
· Submits volunteer/committee activity reports to board supervisor.
· Ensures that action plans are prepared, submitted, updated, and followed.
· Ensures activities are completed within budget.
· Communicates activities and changes as necessary to board supervisor.
· Assigns work to ensure timely completion of tasks.
9. Solicits chapter presidents for their needs/wants regarding CPC format and content.
10. Provide feedback to successor.Time Commitment
• The time commitment is a minimum of 1
hour per week. Time commitment will be considerably
higher in preparation for, and during the annual
convention.
Use of Organizational Resources
Resources related to carrying out the
duties of this office:
• Expenses related to carrying out the duties of the CPC
are reimbursable per AMTA Finance Policy.
• May utilize the services of her/his staff liaison to
accomplish tasks related to carrying out her/his
assignments/charges.
Vacancy and Succession
In the event of a vacancy, the alternate
CPC Moderator will succeed to the position.
Removal from Office
A CPC Moderator may be removed from
office for failure to:
1. Fulfill her/his duties and responsibilities
(dereliction of duties)
2. Abide by the AMTA Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws,
Policy, Code of Conduct, Rules of Engagement, and Job
Description.
3. Keep AMTA membership dues current.
Removal shall occur upon recommendation from an AMTA
National Board member with a two-thirds vote of the
entire National Board, or if the Grievance Commission
finds sufficient dereliction of duties or failure to
abide by the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Policy,
Code of Conduct, Rules of Engagement, or position Job
Description.
