Techniques to calm the Sympathetic Nervous System.
The ability to aid the client in reaching homeostasis and healing.
The nervous system is the master control of the body. Messages are sent and received using the nerves for all bodily functions. Stress and trauma affect the nervous system’s ability to maintain homeostasis. Nervous system disorders are the result of stress and trauma real or imagined to the body activating the sympathetic nervous system’s “Fight or Flight” response as a means of protecting the body from injury resulting in many disease states including fatigue, tension, inflammation and pain. Aromatherapy with essential oils is an all-natural way to reduce symptoms while resetting the autonomic nervous system. Specific oils are used that calm the nervous system returning to a state of homeostasis. The technique consists of applying oils along the Traditional Chinese Meridians and zones on the back and feet incorporating the whole body. In this class you will learn:
- Anatomy and Physiology of the Autonomic Nervous System
- Traditional Chinese Medicine Meridians and zone system
- Health and homeostasis, why balance is necessary
- Basic principles of aromatherapy – uses, applications and benefits
- Essential oils that calm the nervous system
