(Crystal River, FL – October 16, 2008) – As stress levels rise, many people are seeking massage therapy for stress management and increased relaxation. A recent survey conducted by the American Massage Therapy Association® (AMTA®) found that 59 percent of Americans are more stressed this year than last year, and stress is among the top reasons Americans received their last massage. Additionally, 38 percent of Americans say they have considered regular massage to manage stress.
October 19th thru October 25th is national massage therapy awareness week. The Heart of Florida Unit of the AMTA will be hosting a event to educate the community on the many benefits of massage therapy. We will also be conducting a food drive raise supplies and funds to support the citrus county food bank. The event will take place inside the Crystal River mall at the K-mart entrance on Sunday October 19, 2008 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Local massage therapists will be providing free chair massages to those who would like to experience the benefits of massage first hand. Participants will have the opportunity to enter drawings for free 30 minute massages. Food and supplies are in great need. Please bring items such as canned and boxed foods, tooth paste, diapers, ect. All collections and contributions will go directly to those in need and will be greatly appreciated. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
The AMTA Heart of Florida unit is excited to share the benefits of massage and support the Citrus County Food Bank. Join us this year and help make this event a huge success !
