Hello, I’m Jamie Beverly. While holding an LMT license for almost 18 years, I have been fortunate enough to work in many wonderful places, which gave me experience in a great number of fantastic modalities. In addition to these paid opportunities, I have donated hundreds of hours of work by providing therapeutic massage to community members who may not have had the financial ability or means to pay.
Since receiving my massage education, I have also earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. The AMTA Mission states, “To advance the profession of massage therapy and educate the community on the benefits of massage therapy”, if elected, I plan to do just that.
Not only will I educate the community, I will also continue to educate therapists. With a business focused graduate degree, I think it is imperative that I share this knowledge with therapists in our great State on how to professionally market themselves and make well-informed business decisions.
Since 2009, I have sat on the board of a local 501c3 organization that raises funds for HIV/AIDS awareness, homelessness, women/children shelters, and reduction of HIV transmissions through safe sex education. This experience has been enlightening in many ways, by teaching me the importance of fund raising, planning of large-scale events, and of course Roberts Rules of Order.
In closing, let me say that I would love to bring my education and experience to the Florida AMTA Chapter, and would appreciate a vote to a board member position. Thank you. Kindest Regards, Jamie Beverly
